Athletics Many Immaculata students love athletics. Approximately 75 percent of students in grades 6-8 participated on an extracurricular athletic team within the past year. The athletic program at Immaculata extends opportunities to challenge students to grow personally and spiritually. Coaches, who can be a teachers, parents, or community members volunteering time, hold high expectations for athletes. Athletes are expected to try hard, to play as a team, and to be disciplined. The foundation of this discipline is faith and the Immaculata way of life. Immaculata fields ten teams and participates in the Triangle Catholic Schools Athletic Conference, a conference comprised of area Catholic schools. In addition to playing conference games, Immaculata teams often play other schools in the Durham-Chapel Hill area. Thus, Immaculata athletes play students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels. Immaculata has an outstanding athletic performance record.
